Výletem lodí do Lysefjordu zaznamenala naše "velká dovolená" takovou atrakci, že na její strávení nestačil zbytek dne a noc. Následující den nám tudíž s výhodou vyšel odpočinkový, kdy jsme ráno trochu nakupovali a pak odjeli navštívit naše české kamarády v jejich nové lokalitě u moře. Chtěl jsme nic moc nedělat, žádná túra, a míň fotit.
Our "big vacation", through the ferry trip to Lysefjord, registered an attraction, whose digesting required longer than rest of the day and night. The following day became a resting one, during which we shopped a bit in the morning and then drove to visit our Czech friends in their new location at the sea. We resolved to not do much, not hike anywhere, and take fewer pictures.
Kjelavika, Fister: naši nadupaní kamarádi byli napůl rybařit na člunu, který si najmuli s chatou vilou, zatímco druhá půlka šla ve vedru k nějakému dalšímu vodopádu. Když jsme k nim dojeli, vyhledali jsme nejbližší pláž, kde Carol pokoušela osud a Norské moře.
Kjelavika, Fister: our hyperactive friends split to either fish from a boat that they had rented with the cottage villa, while the other half went hiking in hot weather to yet another waterfall. Having reached their place, we sought out the nearest beach, where Carol tempted fate and the Norwegian sea.

Carol samozřejmě nemohla vynechat příležitost se koupat.
Carol had naturally been bound to use the opportunity to bathe.

Pláž byla velmi dobře udržovaná, s čestvě posekaným trávníkem, slunečnými i stinnými místy.
The beach was very well maintained, with freshly mowed lawn, sunny and shady spots.

Takto jsme tedy relaxovali.
This was our way of relaxing.

Carol plavala a Sid se válel.
Carol swam and Sid wallowed on the beach.

I na začátek července se udělalo neobyčejně teplo.
Even for the start of July, it turned exceptionally warm.

Takové norské počasí zaskočilo nejen nás, ale i Nory.
Such Norwegian weather surprised not just us, but Norwegians as well.

A to byl jen začátek. Po zbytek dovolené nás čekalo vedro.
And that was just the beginning. For the rest of our vacation, heat awaited us.

Norové si to ovšem pochvalovali. Takové léto ještě nezažili.
Norwegians were, however, ecstatic. They never had such summer before.

Na pláž přicházely a odcházely skupiny lidí, vesměs rodiny. Místa bylo dost.
Groups of people came and went, mostly families. The beach remained roomy.

Pak se tu objevili kajakáři se psy. Dlouho se připravovali, pak vyjeli — i se psy.
Then kayakers showed up with dogs. Took time to prepare, then paddled out — with the dogs.
Fister: Kjelavika.
Psi zkušeně balancovali na připevněných dečkách. Méně zkušení kajakáři psy neměli.
Dogs masterfully balanced on affixed blankets. Less experienced kayakers had no dogs.
Mosnes, Fister: obě výpravy kamarádů se nakonec vrátily, jedna s rybou, druhá s houbami, a pak se lovily ještě další ryby, a pilo (i české!) pivo a vařila večeře, a povídali jsme si a jedli a užívali dlouhého norského večera.
Mosnes, Fister: eventually the two friendly expeditions came back, one with a fish, the other with mushrooms, there was some more fishing, and drinking (even Czech!) beer, and dinner cooking. We talked and ate and enjoyed the long Norwegian evening.

A pak jeden povstal. (to je fór)
And then one rose. (just kidding)

Která asi byla lepší: ryba nebo houbová omáčka?

Místní pivo. Norové dělají moc dobré pivo, převážně ležáky.
Local beer. Norwegians make very good beer, mostly lagers.

Je 10 hodin večer. Už to vypadá tak, že slunce možná zapadne.
It is 10 o'clock in the evening. It looks like the sun may set tonight.
Fister: Mosnes.
Je 22:14. Ještě to asi potrvá.
It is 10:14 pm. It may take a while.
Fister: Mosnes.
22:24. Slunce ještě pořád zapadá.
10:24 pm. The sun still keeps on setting.
Fister: Mosnes.
22:41. Jejda, bude jedenáct, a my to máme skoro 2 hodiny do hotelu.
10:41 pm. Oops, it will be eleven, and our hotel is almost 2 hours away.
